Here’s the story: I’ve decided to create a series of images involving ultimately eight child characters (five boys and three girls). These child characters will live in the same neighborhood, and decided to form their own group named “The Gang of 8.” Their mascot, a friendly purple octopus named Fred. Through this, and future images, The Gang of 8 will go on a series of adventures – both real and imaginary. This piece is an example of an imaginary adventure where three of the gang take out their jet/rocket-powered wagons out for a spin. The reality here is that they are probably racing their wagons down a grassy hill. This is the second of the series (the first being my previous piece “Petal Power”). I have two more ideas in mind, and will post those when complete. This series will be available for licensing… any takers?

This is a new model based on the sketch I drew up and posted in a preview post. This model will be used in a future illustration I am working on.

So what we have here is a little red wagon enhanced with two supercharged jet rocket engines. This over-powered rocket wagon will send any kid flying through the skies, and through his or her imagination.

Let me know what you think.

So I am sitting here at work, bored out of my mind, when an idea hit me. A rocket-powered radio flyer wagon. And before anyone says, “that’s not an original idea” I just want to say… I know.

I am currently putting the finishing touches to an illustration I am working on, and from that I have decided to make it into a series of illustrations involving characters based on the yet unfinished illustration.

So, as I previously mentioned, I am bored at work, and I pulled out my old, dysfunctional drawing tablet that I use here at my day job, and drew up this very, VERY rough sketch so I can remember the idea for later use.
