I have added texture and material to the 3D sculpt I am creating in ZBrush. This is Gaur – a human/alien/cyborg hybrid, and a really bad guy. He is still a work in progress, but I did want to take a break to create this headshot. Hope you like it.

I decided to share a new work-in-progress. This is Gaur 2.0. This is my newest sculpt I am creating in ZBrush. The reason it is called Gaur 2.0, because I wanted to update a character I previously completed. I learned some new techniques, and how to apply them to my work.

As I progress through this creation, I will post new updates. Also, you can view time-lapse videos of my progress on my Videos Page. Let me know what you think.

Creature Concept: “Ralph”

Say hello to Ralph, my latest creature concept. Ralph was created while I was doing a “speed sculpt” on ZBrush over the weekend. I posted a video of the sculpt in my previous post (view video).

“Ralph” – A Speed Sculpt

I decided to take a break from my job hunt to create a new creature concept. I also decided to record my speed sculpt and share it here. This is Ralph, a ZBrush speed sculpt.. The initial sculpt took me around two hours to complete (hi-res details, and final painting took a couple of more hours). I will post the final image later.

I made some changes to my site

After I completed producing this video, I realized I needed to make some minor changes to my website. If you look at my menu at the top of the page, I have added three new categories: “Characters & Creatures,” “Objects and Mattes,” and “Videos.” The first two pages I created because I noticed I had created enough work to build up new portfolio pages. As for the “Videos” page, I felt that I am confident enough to keep a video record of my sculpts and share them. I am also in the process of creating a video portfolio (which I will also share at a later date).

Characters & Creatures” is a collection of many of the characters and creatures (as the name implies) I have created in ZBrush. “Object & Mattes” is a portfolio of background images, and object I have created for use in my illustrations.

As always, I look forward to feedback.

New Character: “Wally”

I have been inspired to create a new series of illustrations (more on that later). Meet Wally. Wally is a digital illustration of an everyday good guy alien dude. Wally here is going to be a character in an upcoming illustration. So, technically, this is a WIP (work in progress). I realized I hadn’t updated this site in a while, so Wally is my latest submission.

Wally was created and rendered in Zbrush, with the composite image produced in Photoshop. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Latest Work: Starman.

Here is my last illustration for 2013. Starman is the character I’ve been working on for the past few weeks. Created and rendered in ZBrush with post production completed in Photoshop. Let me know what you think.
